A NEW plan put forward by the Velez-Malaga local government is to lay the foundation stone for the town’s future.
The Velez-Malaga Council has approved this week in a plenary session the Strategic Plan 2015-2025, under the name ‘Boosting Velez-Malaga,’ which is to lay the bases on the development and growth of the town for the next 10 years.
The plan was approved by all political forces, with the exception of the PP Conservative Party which voted against it.
Business and Employment councillor Maria Jose Roberto stressed that the new document has penned down 190 actions structured to affect different fields of life, and that it has been drafted with the help of the rest of the political parties and with a social aim.
A total of five lines of work have been created, namely: Velez-Malaga is business, related to employment development and the creation of new companies; Velez-Malaga is culture; Velez-Malaga is ecosystem, with urban and environmental-related initiatives, Velez-Malaga is quality of life, which relates to social services and sports and Velez-Malaga is fair, regarding good government policies and transparency.
“This plan is born with a clear future perspective, for a town that is looking to display its true potential and is going to continue working to be a reference as the capital of the Axarquia region,” said mayor of Velez-Malaga, Antonio Moreno Ferrer.
