FIVE Britons, one in Malaga, are amongst 13 people arrested in Spain for allegedly sharing pornographic material involving children on the internet, and investigations continue to determine whether the suspects have abused minors.
Along with the Britons, six Spaniards, an Italian and a Venezuelan have been arrested in raids in Madrid, Alicante, Valencia, the Balearic Islands and other parts of Spain and another man believed to live in Alicante was arrested in Manchester thanks to collaboration from Interpol.
The man arrested in Malaga, whose name had not been released at time of going to press, was reported by the police to be a well-known offender considered as ‘high-risk’ in the UK, where he has served a four-year jail sentence for sexual abuse and is banned from approaching under 16s.
The National Police force reported that after investigations pinpointed where connections had been made and material shared from, 15 properties were searched and 13 computers, 38 hard drives, 103 CDs and DVDs, 11 USB memories, five mobile phones and four memory cards confiscated.
