Armengol 'proud' of royal presence

THE new President of the Balearic Government, Francina Armengol, met with King Felipe VI, and said that the region was “proud” that he comes to Mallorca.
Armengol was received at La Zarzuela Palace in Madrid and announced that King Felipe, Queen Letizia and their two daughters, Leonor and Sofia, are expected to arrive on the island at the end of the week to spend a vacation at the Marivent Palace like very year. King Felipe is expected to take part in the Sailing Cup from August 1 to 8. Other members of the royal family are already holidaying in Mallorca.
During her audience with the King, Armengol explained how the new Balearic Government was to be organised and that there were plans to open the gardens of Marivent Palace to the public, although they would first have to be discussed and approved by the royal family. She explained that the presence of the royal family had always been beneficial for the island,
Five of Spain’s eight royal grandchildren began sailing lessons in Mallorca this week.
Victoria Federica, the daughter of the Infanta Elena and Jaime de Marichalar, and Juan Valentin, Pablo Nicolas, Miguel and Irene, the children of the Infanta Cristina and Iñaki Urdangarin, attended the Cala Nova Sailing Club with their grandmother, Queen Sofia, and had time to pose for the press.
The Spanish Royals have been seen practising sailing activities every summer in Mallorca. The oldest of the royal grandchildren, Froilan, now 17, has not yet been seen this summer and it is rumoured that he no longer enjoys spending time with his younger cousins.
