GUARDIA CIVIL launched a manhunt after finding a boat in the sea near Cala Figuera, believed to have been used by 13 illegal Algerian immigrants who were later arrested.
A search was launched by land and air around the Santanyi area after the small boat, with no engine, was found by residents in the area and towed to land by Guardia Civil.
Inside, milk and water in packages with arabic writing were found and the boat is believed to have left from Dellys, the nearest point of the Algerian coast, 275 kilometres away. The crossing is estimated at 12 hours in calm seas.
