Representatives from both institutions hosted a meeting to decide what to tackle first.
AN AGREEMENT between the town’s Alzheimer´s Association and the Council is to provide Huercal-Overa with improved facilities for patients suffering from this and other illnesses.The Huercal-Overa Council is collaborating with the Alzheimer and other illnesses Patients and Relatives Association to transform its headquarters into a Junta de Andalucia Health Centre.The town´s Mayor, Domingo Fernandez, together with other Council representatives, held a meeting with Head of the Association, Vicente Parra and its board of directors, to determine which steps to follow to achieve the centre’s transformation.Works will include the creation of an independent area to carry out psychology and physiotherapy services, as well as renovating the facilities to adapt them to future patients.“This association has a long-standing reputation for having helped many Alzheimer sufferers, and as soon as they requested our help, we got to work and we estimate that all adaptations will be finished in a period of three months,” said the Mayor.
