LA LINEA’S new council team has won the approval of local environmental groups by putting bylaws into place to avoid Parque Princesa Sofia being its usual eyesore during the annual fair. For the first time in years, the stall and attractions holders’ camp has been banned from the park itself, which has been fenced off, and all caseta or stallholders will have to clear up around their areas every day or face fines or have their premises closed down. The park’s streets are also to be closed to traffic in an attempt to put an end to partying around vehicles and reduce the rubbish produced by this.Locos del Parque association and Verdemar-Ecologistas en Accion group are celebrating the decision, which they say will help the park return to its former glory.
