ALMUÑECAR’S and La Herradura Foreign Tourist Assistance Service (SATE) is now operational. The offices are located at the La Najarra Palace, opening as part of the Safe Tourism Programme, which for the third consecutive year aims to increase public safety in tourist areas, providing information to tourists and helping them should they fall victim to a crime.“During the months of July and August, a Guardia Civil officer and a Local Police officer will assist tourists permanently, seven days a week during the morning and afternoons,” said Safety councillor, Juan Jose Ruiz Joya. “The assistance will be personalised and there will be an interpreter for French, German, English and Arabic speakers to facilitate communication.”“The safety of residents and visitors is a priority for the local government team, as we wish to make accessibility and security the main, distinguishable traits of Almuñecar and La Herradura,” he finished.
