ONE man died and another was injured on Sunday afternoon (July 5) while paragliding by Santa Pola lighthouse.
The two men are believed to have crashed into each other in the area close to the popular paragliding site and tangled ropes are suspected to have caused them to fall.
Emergency services were alerted and a rescue helicopter sent from San Vicente del Raspeig, which found the victim on rocks about 300 metres from the lighthouse, but attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Meanwhile the other man involved in the accident was reported to have suffered minor injuries.
