Try medical cosmetic facials to see a real difference in your skin

JULIETTE: Is a fully trained medical aesthetician.

IN search of better, younger, clearer looking skin, no pain, no gain right? Wrong! With Medcare Aesthetics range of medical facials, you get the relaxing beauty benefits of having a facial, with the added benefits of a deeper treatment with more visible results. Gemma Quinn went along to find out more…

Juliette Memmott is a fully trained and qualified medical aesthetician and has been working at Medcare in Benijofar since last September. She uses dermatologist-developed products from ZO and Glo Therapeutics. Medcare’s facials and peels are medical-grade and nothing like regular beauty salon treatments.
Juliette carries out a full assessment on client’s skin before deciding on the best treatment and whilst the word ‘peel’ is a little worrying at first, Juliette is quick to reassure that whilst these are stronger treatments than the average salon facial, I won’t come out looking red and sore. There are various levels of peels available and she selects a mild Glo flower enzyme peel for me to try.
There are several different stages, but with each you get to sit back and relax as Juliette’s delicate touch cleanses and exfoliates in preparation for the peel which is brushed on and literally just left for a few minutes. Juliette explained some may feel a warming or slight tingling sensation, but with this gentle peel nothing should feel uncomfortable. A neutraliser is then applied followed by gel mask and a rich moisturiser and serum.
Immediately following the treatment there was that shiny tightness you get from facials, but the real results were more visible the following day when there was a more natural glow and freshness.
Juliette explained some may also experience a little flaking a day or two later, which is the dead skin cells sloughing off and new skin coming through.
Being in my 30s the treatment was one of the mildest available, as thankfully, there are not too many wrinkles or age spots to target as yet!
But this is an age when it’s good to start prevention treatments and a good skin care routine, particularly to protect against the harsh damages of the sun. If you are older, or have more damage, stronger peels are able to reduce wrinkles and lines and target skin conditions.
Regular peels can be done two or three times a years, with a good medical facial recommended once a month to bring out the best in your skin.
To find out more about the best ZO or Glo products and treatments for you, Juliette offers a free consultation in the Medcare Beauty Room. The strongest, medical peels at Medcare are administered by the doctor.
Medical facials cost little more than an hour-long normal salon facial, but there really is no comparison when it comes to the effects and benefits. Discounts are available on courses.
