Police report dozens of incidents across the Costa Tropical during San Juan

SAN JUAN, one of the most special nights of the year has a not so magical side to it, with dozens of incidents reported throughout the Costa Tropical.
The special deployment launched in the region by Guardia Civil was active from 2pm on the June 23 and finished at 2pm on the 24. Several teams providing security along the coast included the Citizen Safety Unit of the Granada Provincial command headquarters, the traffic unit of Motril’s detachment as well as the Service for Nature Protection in areas at risk of forest fires.
Authorities arrested three people for crimes against road safety, having conducted 265 alcohol tests and 13 drug tests. Out of the alcohol tests, 14 were positive and those people were taken into custody.
During the deployment Guardia Civil issued official reports against 64 people for drug consumption in public areas and ownership of weapons.
Officers seized a total of 21 grammes of hashish, 116 grammes of marihuana, seven grammes of cocaine, one gramme of heroin and two doses of amphetamines, as well as several weapons.
Finally, four people had official reports issued against them for lighting fires in protected forest areas.
