We understand that people want to distribute their estate as they wish but under Spanish legislation they may not be able to. Our aim is to inform our clients of the choices they have and for them to be able to make any changes they need so that their assets will be distributed according to their will.”
With the new European Directive 650/2012 being enacted on August 17, it is of even more importance that any wills already written are valid with regards to exemptions, which can be region specific, also taking advantage of inheritance tax instruments that can be used to minimise tax paid on the estate.
As Ignacio said: “We want to make sure that people understand the change in the law and act on it to their advantage. When people pass away it is difficult enough without the added worry of an invalid or poorly functioning will.”
