Legal needs require legal experts

LEGAL matters are one area where it is essential to seek professional advice and this is even more important if you are resident in a different country to your own, unsure of the system and do not speak the language fluently.
Pellicer & Heredia recently opened a new office in Moraira-Teulada offering a complete legal service. International lawyers for more than 15 years, they have vast experience in both personal and business legal matters. They cover property law, litigation, tax planning, currency and investments, wills, inheritance tax and simpler issues such as residency, driving issues and vehicle matters.
They speak English and have the experience of working within the British legal framework. Recently they have been holding seminars for expatriates, once a month, to address specific issues that residents governed by Spanish Law have found relevant.
Ignacio Pellicer Molla said: “Our recent seminar in Quesada was regarding wills and inheritance tax, both issues of utmost importance to British expatriates. We understand that people want to distribute their estate as they wish but under Spanish legislation they may not be able to. Our aim is to inform our clients of the choices they have and for them to be able to make any changes they need so that their assets will be distributed according to their will.”
With the new European Directive 650/2012 being enacted on August 17, it is of even more importance that any wills already written are valid with regards to exemptions, which can be region specific, also taking advantage of inheritance tax instruments that can be used to minimise tax paid on the estate.
As Ignacio said: “We want to make sure that people understand the change in the law and act on it to their advantage. When people pass away it is difficult enough without the added worry of an invalid or poorly functioning will.”
With offices from Quesada through Hondon de las Nieves, Petrer, Alicante to Moraira, they are easily accessible and always happy to listen and advise, even if the advice is the good news that your affairs are in order and no action is necessary.
The next seminar is on Wednesday July 1 at 11am at Espai La Senieta, Moraira. The subject will be wills and inheritance tax but of course they will be more than happy to arrange a no-obligation free consultation appointment on any other issues.
