THREE jobs offered by Ronda Town Hall have received an avalanche of applications, showing that unemployment is as much of a problem in the town as everywhere else in the area.
Mayor Maria de la Paz Fernandez, who recently began her second term in office, has reported that 281 people have applied for a single administrative assistant post available, while 55 applied for another administrative position and 50 for a forest engineering technician post.
Accepted candidates, lists of which are due to be posted at the town hall, will have to sit exams to compete for the posts, the mayor explained.
The latest Junta de Andalucia employment figures listed 4,426 Ronda residents (2,442 women and 1,984 men) as jobless and looking for work.
