City sites available for El Corte Ingles

SUCCESSIVE city councils have hoped to bring El Corte Ingles to Almeria City since the 90s.
Pablo Venzal, city hall’s acting Town Planning councillor, believes when he leaves the corporation this coming Saturday, June 13, the longheld ambition is closer to realisation. Much of the groundwork towards bringing Spain’s leading department store to the city has now been completed, Venzal said, with several options for the centre’s future location.
He mentioned La Salle, which already figures in the city’s General Urban Development Plan (PGOU). However, El Corte Ingles needs to be able to choose an Almeria City site without encountering political undercurrents
