BEACH-GOERS can now enjoy the improved coastline of Almuñecar, as the works to regenerate beaches have now concluded.La Caletilla beach, which was severely damaged due to heavy rains and waves during the winter season, has undergone an addition of sand from the Rio Verde and the creation of a new breakwater to protect the area.Urgent works are still taking place in the area of Velilla, but are expected to be completed by the end of this week, with repairs to the Reina Sofia breakwater.The total budget for this project was €900,000 and has been carried out by special machinery designed to transport vast amounts of sand with the aim of speeding up the process.
