Almuñecar gunmen sent to prison

THE Court of Granada has jailed five men for two years each for shooting a 25-year-old in Almuñecar.
The events took place in February 2009, when the accused conspired to attack the victim with whom they had been involved in previous ‘violent situations’. They hid behind bushes in a children’s park near the victim’s home and two of them shot him, causing him injuries to his leg.
The five men will also have to pay €70,000 in compensation to the victim and will not be able to come within 500 metres of him for seven years.
