THE municipal animal pound of Motril is displaying dozens of pictures created by students of the local Fine Arts school and D’Arte Academy. The initiative, called ‘Being generous is an art,’ was conceived by the centres together with the town council to encourage pet adoption, as owners will receive a picture, painting or piece of pottery depicting their new friend in return.Mayor Luisa Garcia Chamorro together with Health councillor Margarita Yanguas visited the pound to see the paintings for themselves, and to congratulate both art centres on their collaboration.“This project is part of an intense awareness campaign launched by the council to encourage animal adoption,” said the mayor.
