New bus service reaches El Castillo residents

A NEW bus service for the residents of the San Miguel and El Castillo district of Almuñecar has been launched.
The new bus line became operational last Thursday and is being managed by company Grupo Fajardo, which has provided a mini-bus with capacity for 18 sitting and 20 standing people, as well as having a ramp to allow access for people with disabilities.
“This will be line number six in Almuñecar and has been called ‘Castillo’,” said deputy mayor of El Castillo, Luis Aragon.
The bus will be free for a period of two months until it is officially included in the list of urban public transport services.
The councillor said that the route would take around 30 minutes and go through the following points: Avenida Costa del Sol, La Carrera, the Health Centre, Plaza Madrid, Paseo Altillo, Plaza San Cristobal, calle Bikini, Calle Geranio-El Majuelo, Cuesta del Castillo, Calle Bikini, Calle Guadix, Avenida Costa del Sol, La Carrera and the Health Centre.
The bus will operate from Monday to Friday between 9.25am to 1pm and in the afternoons from 5pm to 7.30pm. On Saturdays, the service will run only in the morning.
