La Nucia offers convalescence – Ukraine soldiers on rest and recovery

THE Town Council of La Nucia has gifted the free use of the town’s pool and sporting facilities this week to a group of 14 former Ukrainian soldiers, some of whom are amputees and others with a range of disabilities and war wounds.
The young men are aged between 20 and 35 and have been trying out several sporting activities and rehabilitation exercises, especially in the heated pool, as part of their convalescence.
They are delighted with the hospitality they have been shown, especially to be given the opportunity to enjoy the warm weather and the various entertainments on offer in La Nucia and nearby Benidorm.
The boys will be in Spain for a period of 20 days, organised by the Madrid association ‘With Ukraine’.
La Nucia’s mayor, Bernabé Cano, made a personal visit to the Sports Centre to see the soldiers and to enquire after their welfare.
