Spain tops tourism list – a job well done

THE World Economic Forum has ranked Spain as the most competitive country for tourism, including in its assessment infrastructure, cultural resources and its approach to consumer trends.
Benidorm based hospitality association HOSBEC observes that the forum’s placing of Spain at the top of the Tourism Competitiveness Index of Travel and Tourism in 2015 list is a reflection on “a job well done” by those responsible for the promotion of Spain’s beaches, weather, festivals and constantly improving gastronomy.
Benidorm’s tour bosses in particular take an entrepreneurial approach to sourcing and developing new markets to encourage improvements in local trade, especially during the busiest summer months.
The study has been developed in collaboration with data assessment compiled by Deloitte; the International Air Transport Association (IATA); the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUPN); the World Tourism Organisation (WTO) and the WTTC (The World Travel & Tourism Council).
Spain has worked hard to oust France from the top position on the leader board.
The WEC noted that in 2013 more than 60 million tourists visited Spain.
