NERJA hotels were full to the rafters over the long weekend, registering a hotel occupancy rate of more than 94 per cent.
Between Friday 1 May to Sunday 3, the average rate of occupancy was 84.32 per cent, while on Friday and Saturday, it reached a total of 94.42 per cent, according to the data released by the Municipal Tourism Office.
A large number of tourists attended the office to enquire about the Caves, the local museum and beaches, as well as ongoing events such as the ‘Malaga Flavour’ fair, to be celebrated on May 8, 9, and 10 or the Residents’ Day, which will take place at the Plaza de los Cangrejos on May 9.
Urban Development Councillor, Bernardo Pozuelo, assured that the data confirms that the financial situation is now in a recovery phase, and that Nerja continues to establish its status as a first-rate tourism destination.
In addition, he stressed that these figures, together with the positive figures also registered during the Easter holidays, predict a great summer in terms of hotel occupancy.
