THE Fair of San Bernabe, patron saint of Marbella, will be held at a new location this year.

More attractions, more casetas, more space for horses and concerts and a free bus service are the novelties promised for the 2015 fair, which will be held on 100,000 square metres of land in the La Cañada area.

However, the new site is provisional as the council is already working on the new fairground further north, in La Serrania, which will be used in 2016.

Two months before the fair, the council has approved moving the fair from Arroyo I to appease angry residents who were fed up with the noise, and holding it temporarily on the land which owner Tomas Oliva will provide free of charge.

More space for casetas, separated into those aimed at youths and those for families, more space for horses and riders and more attractions, including two ferris wheels and a children’s lake, were announced by Mayor Angeles Muñoz upon revealing the plans.
