THE Balearic Islands Regional Government has allocated €300,000 in funding to convert public transport vehicles to use compressed natural gas.
The reasons behind the investment, as explained by the region’s Economy Department, were that this fuel was more environmentally friendly, as its CO2 emissions were lower and it was 40 per cent cheaper than traditional fuels.
