Senior citizens to receive great discounts in Nerja

SENIOR citizens of Nerja are in luck as a new agreement has been signed by the council and local stores to offer discounts for those who own the Senior Citizens’ Card.

Senior Citizens councillor, Inocencia Quintero, explained that this project has been conceived to promote integration of all seniors in society, as well as their participation in cultural, educational and sports events by encouraging them with discounts.

Ms Quintero stressed that all stores located in Nerja are welcomed to participate, being the only condition to offer a discount of at least 5 per cent for a minimum period of two years.

Representatives of the town’s Centro Comercial Abierto have shown great interest in promoting this initiative amongst the shopping centre’s stores.

A guide displaying all participating stores will be released for holders of the senior citizens’ card as soon as the council has finished negotiating with the different businesses.
