THE GOB, an ecological pressure group of Mallorca, has put forward a proposal of sustainable construction for Palma to stop urban speculation.
The association have requested in a statement for the city to “stop growing” and claimed that the several projects to expand the city are unjustified, as they explained that the population is expected to stabilise during the next few years.
In addition, the group have requested from the government to promote non-motorised transport, to improve the network of bicycle paths and ensure bicyclists’ safety.
Finally, they had rejected the transformation of the Port Moll Vell into a commercial site as they claimed, “it would have highly negative effects on the aspect of the Palma Bay.”
