JUDGE Mercedes Alaya is accusing the former manager-director of CIO Mijas hostelry training centre in an ongoing training scam case.
The Sevilla judge in charge of the case believes Jose Gutierrez Muñoz may be guilty of corrupt practice, misappropriation of public funds and grants fraud as the management allegedly held back more than €3 million in government grants for training courses between 2008 and 2010.
Although Gutierrez was not remanded in custody after declaring in Sevilla on March 25, he can be expected to appear in court again to face charges of involvement in decisions to keep back funds.
