Spending after storms

THE Ministry of the Environment will spend €1.2 million on Costa del Sol and Malaga Province beaches this year.

Work has started this week to add sand to beaches in La Cala de Mijas and Marbella, considered to have been affected the most by storms over the winter, and should be ready by Easter.

Malaga City, Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Estepona beaches will also receive work before the summer to ensure the province’s beaches are in top condition for the holiday period.

  1. I have an apartment in Carvajal. One thing the authorities should do, is to provide some form of ashtray, or a notice, to stop people putting their cigarette butts out on the beach. They do in Portugal, Villamoura, where the beach’s are in pristine condition.
