TWO men have been arrested by the Guardia Civil on suspicion of four counts of theft from agricultural facilities in El Ejido.
AJSE and JMSE, both aged 22 and residents of El Ejido, were arrested for four counts of theft, one of which was attempted. The investigation began when the theft of two carts, 20 plastic boxes and the produce of approximately 20 lines of peppers were reported stolen by a farmer in the hamlet Aguilas Bajas.
During the investigation, the officers were alerted to a robbery in progress when several workers surprised two people removing goods from a warehouse. The officers attended the scene and searched the suspects, discovering cucumbers, aubergines and peppers, allegedly from previous thefts. Armed with this information the officers were able to tie the two men to four robberies.
The two, along with case details, have been referred to court.
