A week to forget for Lewis

WORLD champion Lewis Hamilton isn’t having the best week this week. Currently in Jerez for the pre-season winter Formula 1 testing, the British racer spun out after completing 43 laps on the final day of testing, with his Mercedes having to be transported back to the pit lane on a recovery vehicle.

Cutting a forlorn figure, Hamilton stayed by the car while stewards cleared the Mercedes from the track, with the session temporarily red-flagged.

It will not be a week to remember for the 30-year-old world champion. Hamilton hit the headlines this Wednesday (February 4) with revelations that his seven-year ‘on-off’ relationship with former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger is over.

The British press are saying that Hamilton was dumped by the 36-year-old American singer because he would not commit to marrying her.

With winter testing in Jerez wrapping up today (Wednesday), Hamilton will no doubt be hoping for a better month of February ahead of the first race of the season in Australia on March 15.
