MORE than 100 people took part in a peaceful march to protest against the poisoning of pets on the Llenaire beach in Pollença.

Participants gathered on Saturday (January 31) at the Mill bus station and departed together with around 50 dogs towards the beach, which is adapted for dogs.

An investigation was started after several dogs died due to poison ingestion, and the town council has enforced compulsory use of muzzles to prevent more deaths.

Vets believe the substance responsible for their deaths could be a pesticide aimed at killing snails.
