COMPLAINTS about medical negligence increased last year in Spain with 14,749 complaints recorded across both public and private health centres and hospitals. The Valencia Region came in fourth place with 1,355 complaints made. Murcia Region received 586 complaints.
The Association of the Patient Advocate said nationally 442 more cases were reported than in 2013 and 967 more than in 2012. Of the total number of complaints, 835 allegedly resulted in death.
