Moaty’s fish and chips we love

MOATY’S:  More than just fish, offering a menu to suit all palates.

MOATY’S Fish and Chip Restaurant and takeaway is a brilliant little gem of a chippy in the heart of Alhaurin el Grande bringing a little bit of Britain to inland Costa del Sol.

Moaty’s, originally established in 2000, is well known for its quality food, excellent customer care and friendly service.

By introducing a midweek roast, daily specials, fresh bakes and now clients are free to browse the net whilst relaxing with use of the courtesy WiFi, Jayne, who took over the management in June of 2014, has brought Moaty’s up to date and into the 21st Century whilst retaining that traditional ‘Fish and Chip’ selection we all know and love.

All future generations should have the chance to enjoy fish and chips as it is a mainstay of the British way of life, so Moaty’s only uses sustainable North Atlantic Cod, sourced for its quality and taste, cooked in their own lactose free batter and fried in animal free fat, so the batter becomes a beautiful crispy shell, to nuggets of soft white fish cooked in a fully functioning fish and chip fryer for that authentic taste.

Haddock and roe are also firm British favourites so have sneaked onto the menu in recent times.

However, Moaty’s is about more than just fish; they offer a full menu to suit all palates and is open early for breakfasts and snacks, moving onto light meals, lunches and evening service. If time is short, you can opt for a takeaway and with a quick phone call you can pre-order so it is ready when you arrive.

Moaty’s, 15 Gerald Brenan, Alhaurin el Grande behind kiosk Los Compadres, telephone 952 499 285. Open Monday to Saturday 8.30am – 9.30pm and you can find them on facebook @ moaty’s chippy.
