Out-of-date development

ORIHUELA Town Hall’s request for a €50,000 grant, presented to the provincial administration for improvement work at La Zenia roundabout on the N-332, has been denied.

The request was not granted because the present construction status does not match the currently valid zoning plan.

Councillor for the Coast Martina Scheurer said that the widening of the N-332 and the roundabout itself were not taken on board by the previous government in their zoning plan.

The new development plan was rejected in a plenary session with the majority of votes of the PP and is therefore still not in the publication phase.

The proposed works are urgently needed and must be done to meet the necessary requirements issued by the ministry, and will now have to be financed from the funds due to the coast from the sale of properties as soon as the money is released.
