Last few days to check in Nerja

NERJA Town Hall is reminding foreign residents that they have until Tuesday, December 30, to register to vote in the next local elections.

All EU foreigners are entitled to vote as long as they are registered on the town hall roll (padron). The last day for checking to see if you are on the electoral roll is December 30, and the town hall is urging people to register before then.

Nerja Town Hall Foreigners’ Department will be open Friday, December 26, Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 between 10am and 1.30pm.

Those who wish to check if they are on the list and also those who wish to register to vote are reminded that details needed are NIE number, full name and date of birth.

Norwegian residents can vote in the upcoming May elections if they have been on the padron for three years and have a resident card or certificate. The last day for checking is January 15. Icelandic nationals, as well as Non-EU nationals from Bolivia, Cabo Verde, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Korea, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago and New Zealand must be on the padron for five years and have a resident card or certificate. January 15 is the last day to check if the voting form has been filled in.

Finally, the Foreigners’ Department at Nerja Town Hall would like to wish all residents a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
