A SPANISH Doctors Without Borders volunteer under medical surveillance after suspected contacted with the Ebola virus has completed quarantine and been discharged from hospital.
The volunteer medical worker was brought back to Spain from Mali in November after accidentally pricking herself with a needle which could have been used on an Ebola sufferer and was admitted to Madrid’s Carlos III hospital.
The Health Ministry said this morning, December 11, that the volunteer had completed the established three week quarantine period without displaying any symptoms and was therefore considered out of danger.
Spain continues to be free of the virus as no further contact or symptoms have been reported since the World Health Organisation declared the country ‘Ebola-free’ on December 2.
