ALTHOUGH Monday (December 8) is a national holiday, most supermarkets and many shops will be open.
It is the Dia del la Inmaculada Concepcion (Immaculate Conception).
Yesterday (Saturday, December 6) was the Dia de la Constitucion and marked the date the new Constitution was voted on and passed in a people’s referendum in 1978 after dictator Franco’s death. Most businesses were shut as Spaniards celebrated the event.
In the run up to Christmas and Epiphany (The Three Kings) many supermarkets and shops will open on Sundays December 14, 21 and 28 and January 4.
