Mayor of Benidorm opens new indoor pool

MAYOR of Benidorm Augustin Navarro, along with 96 year old water-babe Peggy Nutt, cut the ribbon to declare a new swimming pool open. at Ciudad Patricia.

Also in attendance was Patricia Perez Arroyo, the daughter of the original developer and after whom the park is named. Shareholders were represented by Peter Jacobs, with additional speeches by Nadine Sweers – location manager – and Gordon Innes, the president of the residents’ association.

Ciudad Patricia is a senior resort set in 100,000m2 of parkland in the hills between Benidorm and El Albir. It provides apartments where residents can enjoy life to the full in an environment where welfare and safety are built-in.

Swimming has long been recognised for its health benefits, and whilst Ciudad Patricia’s has long had outdoor pools, they get a bit chilly from October through to April.

So with this in mind, work started just over a year ago on their new indoor swimming pool and now it is finally open.

The pool has been designed in such a way to make it very easy to get in and out, with a long gentle slope which means residents gradually immerse themselves in the water.
