THOUSANDS of pink, helium-filled balloons were released into the evening skies to commemorate International Breast Cancer Awareness Day.
Maria Wilson, President of Orihuela Costa’s branch of the AECC cancer charity, was joined by her Pink Ladies at Zenia Boulevard in La Zenia as pink balloons were purchased for €2 in memory of lost loved ones. The event raised €3,502.

Nice thought but not thought far enough…what happened to the pink balloons after their flight? Are they now in the nature? IOn the sea? Did a search party go and pick them up? Not good. Iôm sure there are ways to do these things without causing stress to nature, animals, other people, etc.
