OCTOBER celebrates the 55th anniversary of the discovery of Nerja Caves.
The first event – tickets for which were sold out – was a concert by Malaga’s Symphonic Orchestra and guitarist Javier Garcia Moreno on Saturday October 18 commemorating a musical evening held in 1961 during which scores by Segundo Pastor and José Andreu which were inspired by the caves were played.
The composers’ children were present for this emotive event, and in fact played a large part in making it possible by conceding rights to the Nerja Caves foundation both for the concert itself and for a recording to be made in CD format and later played every day in the caves.
