San Pedro Feria 2014

As carnival figures and giants paraded the streets amid vibrant firework displays in the sky, the coronation of the new king and queen of San Pedro de Alcantara signified that the official opening ceremony of San Pedro Feria 2014 had begun.

Mayor Angeles Muñoz, along with officials from the town hall, cut the ceremonial ribbon before heading to the municipal tent where the festivities and concerts began with local artist (aptly named) Juanjo Alcantara. Awards were presented to the winner of the poster design competition and the winner of the best costume design.

The coastal town, which forms part of Marbella, celebrates the five-day traditional, fun-packed event in October, concluding on a Monday when the town has its official day of rest.
