THE Junta of Andalucia (regional government) has asked the Andalucian Superior Court of Justice to hold off on the July 29 decision declaring the municipal planning of the Algarrobico hotel in 2003 legal.
The action comes after the Ecologists in Action and Save Mojacar argued that the July judgement violates an effective remedy and ignores multiple statements that show the hotel violates the Coastal Act and is on specially protected land.
With this in mind, the Junta has announced its plan to ask the court to annul the July decision.
The Junta has said that it will exhaust all administrative and governmental actions within its power to ensure the full availability and protection of the coastal area.
