The Over 50s Show in Estepona

The Euro Weekly News is supporting The Over 50s Show. The popular, admission-free lifestyle event for the Coast’s older people, is returning to Estepona in November.

Joint organiser John Low said “The show has been brilliantly supported by businesses and bodies right along the Coast, as well as huge numbers of expats and indigenous residents, since 2006.

He commented that “Euro Weekly News’ support is a great vote of confidence in the event which will be instrumental in gaining maximum exposure and awareness.”

Steven Euesden welcomed the chance to support such an important event. He said “This show is not just a proven success; it is an event that gets right to the heart of the expat community – just like the Euro Weekly News.

“We have at the EWN been a central feature of the lives of English speaking people in Spain for many years, and I know all our staff are as excited to be involved in the show as I am.

“It is one of the main events on the calendar for expats and is always a huge success. With our help we know it will continue to be so – only bigger and even better than before. John and everyone involved in it put in a tremendous amount of work, and we at the EWN congratulate them for it.”

All the free attractions, which have contributed to the success of The Over 50s Show, and made it one of the must attend events in the Coast’s calendar, will again be in the mix. These include cooking demonstrations, wine tasting, computer and Internet tuition, a craft show, dancing demonstrations and lessons, pottery demonstrations, fashion and make-overs, golf lessons from PGA professionals, indoor bowls tuition,  pets advice, consumer and legal advice,  finance advice, guidance on cosmetic procedures,  and health checks and more.

And for antique buffs, the good news is that Eric Knowles, known to millions for his appearances on The Antiques Roadshow, will appear at the show again, offering free valuations. This has proved to be one of the most successful features of the show.

The Over 50s Show is described by the organisers as ‘the ultimate lifestyle event for the Coast seniors’.  They also add that the event offers the over-50s a one-stop shop to get information on their physical and financial health as well as enjoy many of their interests and hobbies, not to mention an excellent opportunity to meet-up with their peers from all over the Coast and beyond.

Health and well being will be a key element of the event. Visitors can avail of blood pressure and blood glucose tests; spine monitoring and bone density screening will also be available, backed by information on treating arthritic joints and knee pain. And there will also be the opportunity of joining in yoga and aerobic classes.

And the organisers emphasise that the event is not just for the ‘over 50s’.  As they say: “Everybody is welcome and many of the attractions are not age-specific.”

Art exhibition at The Over 50s Show

The Andalusian International Artists art group will be displaying their new works at the show. The AIA Art Group was formed seven years ago by professional and dedicated visual artists from around Europe who are all living and working in Andalucia.

The artists comprise Diana Worthy, Richard Wood, Gordon Haslett (UK), Philip Magee (Ireland) and Juan Cruz Plaza (Spain) among others. For more information on the group contact the president 952592652.
