Charlotte Church’s millions have “dried up”

Charlotte Church has admitted that much of her previous wealth has “dried up” and that she will have to work for all of her adult life.

In an interview with BBC One Wales, Charlotte explained, ‘I will have to work for the rest of my life. Not because I want to but because I have to.

‘I always understood that all that stuff isn’t important and my career was not the “be and end all”.’

At the height of her fame in 2003 she was reported to be worth £25 million. By 2010 she was down to £10 million and last year the Sunday Times rich list reported that she was now worth £8 million, due to a slump in her fame.

She laughed, ‘The tax man is looking at my accounts wondering where I’m hiding all my money.’

The singer also hosted a chat show, The Charlotte Church Show, which ran for three seasons on Channel 4. Despite only being 28, she has also released two autobiographies.

It is not the first time Church has been so open about her finances. She confessed to Stylist magazine back in February, ‘I haven’t got a lot of money. I’ve got enough to be comfortable if I was reasonable for the rest of my life, but I’m not reasonable, so I will have to find a way to sustain my lifestyle.’
