Djokovic records 40th win at Wimbledon

The top seed and 2011 champion Novak Djokovic recorded his 40th match win at Wimbledon, the World No. 2 defeated veteran Radek Stepanek 6-4, 6-3, 6-7(5), 7-5(5) to book his place in the third round of the tournament. Djokovic is aiming to capture his seventh Grand Slam Championship this week.

The Queen’s champion,Grigor Dimitrov, also eased his way past Luke Saville on Centre court 6-4, 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (7-5).

Andy Murray continued his winning streak as title defender of Wimbledon, the 27-year-old swiftly moved pass Slovenian Blaz Rola with a convincing 6-1, 6-1, 6-0 in just under 1 hour and 24 minutes.

Spaniard and world No. 7 David Ferrer was stunned by a gruelling five set encounter against the 23-year-old Andrey Kuznetsov. The Russian qualified for the third round of the championship 6-7 (5), 6-0, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 after 3 hours and 21 minutes.

Andy Murray is set to face Roberto Bautista Agut in the third round after the record win for the Brit.
