Andy Murray Crashes out of Queen’s

Andy Murray’s unbeaten run was put to an end in straight sets 7-6 (12-10) 6-2 at the Queen’s Club Championships.

The 35 year old Czech veteran Radek Stepanek, ranked No 42 in the world, refused to give into the reigning Queen’s champion, grafting through moments of pressure and dominating Murray in the tie-break of the first set, and breaking the Scot twice in the second. A shocking defeat for the27-year-old, in just the second match under new coach Amelie Mauresmo.

The British No 1 Andy Murray has been unstoppable, with a 19 match winning streak on the grass-court.The Scotsman has not been defeated on grass since the infamous 2012 Wimbledon final against Roger Federer.

“I have only got myself to blame that I lost the first set. I don’t know how many set points I had, but quite a lot of them were on my serve,” Murray added: “But like I said, it’s more about how I get myself ready for Wimbledon now and how I use the next 10 days of preparation on the grass. Hopefully I can do a good job of that.”
