Back on top: The Albox swordsman.
The swordsman of Albox is once again back in its rightful place, keeping guard over the town.
Restoration work on the Santa Maria Church in the Plaza Mayor has thrown up a few surprises ever since work began last year.
One such surprise was the discovery of the centuries old weather vane in the form of a swordsman.
A little worse for wear after standing guard for so long, the task of restoring the weather vane was tackled by the Chacon Brothers.
Now restored to its former glory, workmen have replaced the weather vane back on top of the church tower, where the swordsman should be good for keeping guard for at least another couple of centuries.
Work is progressing well on the Church with both towers complete with weather vanes fully refurbished, much of the exterior of the church is also complete with new rendering and pointing and new roof tiles fitted.
Work is continuing on the main facade at the entrance to the church with some of the scaffolding having been removed this week.
