UK parents wait to lay son to rest after Spain death

Francis Brennan's body was found at La Zenia beach.

The parents of Francis Brennan, whose body was found washed up on the beach at La Zenia, Orihuela Costa, say they just want to “lay him to rest.”

Carl and Janet Brennan from Liverpool, previously spoke to The Euro Weekly News pleading for help and information regarding the whereabouts of their son after he went missing from Javea in January.

The 25 year-old was last seen being dragged from a car by men dressed as Guardia Civil officers.

Janet read reports that a male body had been found at La Zenia and immediately contacted police. Later, her worst fears became a reality as police confirmed the body was that of her son.

His body was found wrapped in a plastic bag with his hands tied and he had a severe head wound.

The family are now liaising with police and the British consulate so they can “bring Francis home.”

Francis fled to Spain after being accused of stabbing someone but was due to return to the UK from Spain in the New Year to face those assault charges.
