EastEnders star Patsy Palmer going to Hollywood

Patsy Palmer is set to leave the show for Hollywood.

EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer is set to end her 21-year association with the popular BBC soap in order to try her luck in Hollywood.

The actress, 41, who plays Albert Square staple Bianca Jackson, is said to be moving to Los Angeles with her family this summer as she prepares to establish herself as a Hollywood actress.

After years of gracing UK screens it is said that Patsy, a mother of four, is relocating to the US in a bid to boost her career.

She’ll be swapping Walford for California life as she prepares to embark on a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’ with her family.

The star’s soap character became an instant hit with fans of the show following her 1993 introduction.

Bianca will be best remembered for her high-pitched nasal whine, penchant for padded jackets and trademark ‘Rickaaaay’ refrain.

This won’t be the first time that the actress has left the show. Her character Bianca first left the Square in 1999, returning for a one-off episode in 2002 before going back in 2008.

EastEnders Executive Producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins said: “We are so sad that Patsy has decided to leave us but completely understand it’s the right time for her.

“Bianca won’t be leaving Albert Square until the Autumn so there’s still a lot more to come from her on screen this year – and the door will be left wide open for her return.

“We won’t be getting rid of Bianca’s quilted jacket just yet.”
