ESTEPONA’S seafront promenade is getting a new look with the restoration of 12 flowerbeds with a technique used by Modernist artista Antonio Gaudi.
The Councillor for Resource Management, Pilar Fernandez-Figares, said that the old black granite is being substituted for a combination of tiles in three different colours.
This techniques is known as ‘Trencadis’ and has the appearance of a mosaic with ceramic fragments joined by white cement which will give the flowerbeds a more “attractive and original look”, the councillor said. The town hall will invest more than €15,000 in giving the promenade a new look to offer the best image to visiting tourists.
