IN 2007, Relleu town hall made €318,000 by rezoning land for development. Mosmay SL planned a six-storey block of 80 apartments for the small Marina Baja mountain town. Then the property bubble burst and the company disappeared, leaving the building half-finished.
The town hall Opposition party is calling for something to be done about the abandoned apartments.
Apart from its “noticeable impact on the landscape” the unguarded block is a public danger, especially as the crane still in place, claimed councillor Pilar Llinares.
“People are frightened, especially when it is windy. The crane could collapse and block access to the village,” Llinares warned.
