Leeds United manager Niel Warnock
LEEDS United manager Neil Warnock has parted company with the football club following a 2-1 defeat by Derby County FC. Warnock said the club have no chance of reaching the play-offs for this season but he insisted the time was right for a change as manager.
Elland Road saw Leeds fans chanting at the manager at the final whistle, and the club issued a statement later in the evening confirming his departure, with squad manager Neil Redfearn placed in charge of the club on a temporary basis.
The statement from the club read: “The decision has been taken with a view to preparing for the 2013/14 season and Neil Redfearn will be asked to take control of first team coaching until a permanent appointment is made.”
